| Peng Song received a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (with a minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering) in 1993 and an M.Eng. degree in Precision Engineering in 1996, both from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He earned his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. From 2003 to 2004, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception (GRASP) Laboratory. In 2004, he joined the faculty at Rutgers’ Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering as an assistant professor. His research interests are in the broad areas of robotics and design include haptics, medical robotics, robot manipulation, multibody dynamics, rehabilitation engineering, and mechanical design and virtual prototyping. He has served on a number of conference program committees, and is currently a co-organizer of the ASME student design competition (ASME DETC 2005). |
